Activity One:
Do some research. What struggle for power was occurring in Nigeria at the turn of the century (1900)? What can you find out about the Igbo (sometimes Ibo) people? Using Pages, Keynote, s'more, thing link, or Prezi, organize your research. You should include at least two pictures, an explanation of the power struggle, and the facts about the Igbo/Ibo people. Please submit via schoology. If using Pages, save it as a pdf before submitting.

Chapters 14-19 tell about Okonkwo's life in exile in Mbanta. Identify the most important event from each chapter. Find a picture that represents the event. Write a caption for the picture that explains the event. Use at least one vocabulary word in each caption. Use the program of your choice to complete this. It is due when you walk in tomorrow. Final product should include: 6 pictures, 6 captions, 6 vocab words. Each caption should be AT LEAST one sentence in length. Have fun and be creative. |

Activity Seven: Supporting a Theme
Using the motif that you found evidence for in the first half of the novel, you need to first turn it into a theme. Then you need to identify evidence from the novel that supports this theme. You will display this evidence on a "body" in the following manner:

Spine: moral Arm: strength (+) Heel: weakness (-)
You can create this "body of evidence" either on paper by tracing a person or digitally by using a clip art outline. Here are some examples:
